Holy cow!  Have we been enjoying some great music!  For those that don’t know, our Summer Music Series offers music, barbecued burgers and hot dogs, and of course, our free home-made root beer!  Add a 25 cent scoop of vanilla ice cream and you have a “brown cow”!

This year’s Series  ran on Friday nights, 6:30 to 8 p.m. from June 24th through August 12th.  Weather permitting, we hosted the series outdoors.  In case of rain, we’ll simply moved it into the church.  There was no admission, but we take a free-will offering as compensation for the performers.  This has been a fun-filled outing that is great for the whole family and easy on the pocket book.

This year, we were blessed with an incredible lineup of performances.  Most concerts featurde three performers!  We’ve also added a special “Kid’s Night” on July 29th featuring Mark Shelton as “Captain Radical”, and Kids on the Block Vermont.  Below is the 2011 schedule:

Last year, we tried to create a setting that was a little more conducive to socializing.  So, we moved the party outdoors.  In addition to music, there were games, a concession stand, and of course our homemade root beer!  On only two rainy evenings, we moved into the narthex.  That seemed to work well too.  By all accounts, people had a good time.  The music was great.  And we could see that a following has begun to develop.
