Worship is the heart of our community here at Covenant Community Church. Our congregation consists of people from a diverse range of spiritual backgrounds. There are some seeking a church experience for the first time. Others have brought church experiences from a variety of religious traditions: Catholic, evangelical, and protestant. Our worship services are casual in format but framed by the seasons of the church and lectionary texts. We have embraced the sentiment: Come as You Are.
Worship and the Arts
We believe the arts are pathways to enhance the worship experience therefore we incorporate all forms of both visual and the performing arts at various times throughout the year. We promote an exploration of individuals’ artistic talents as an expression of stewardship bringing glory to God and affirming our neighbor.
Children and Worship
Children are welcome to participate in all aspects of worship. Sunday school for children in grades K-6 occurs concurrently with adult worship each Sunday during the school year. Communion Sundays are an exception to this practice. We also have a Nursery where volunteers care for the youngest children.
We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of the month. Covenant Community Church practices open Communion. This means that all who seek the presence of Christ and hope to live a new life in Christ are invited to share, regardless of age or church affiliation. We encourage children’s participation in our communion celebration. It is our intention for Communion Sundays to include aspects of worship that are familiar to children and inclusive.
